Coming JANUARY 1st, 2020!
I am fortunate to lead a successful life as a full time creative: I work with wonderful clients, I have amazing students, I have ample opportunity to write and share my work, and I represent a camera brand that I love and respect. My life, the culmination of years of hard work, is one that brings me joy and satisfaction.
When you look at somebody’s success, however, it is important to remember that you are only seeing things on the surface. Underneath, those same people may be struggling with illness or stresses that we don’t know anything about. Such was the case for me a few years ago, when Post Traumatic Stress Disorder found me, a parting gift from my former life as a paramedic.
It took a long time for me to heal and become whole again. I learned a lot through the process. I came out of it a stronger person. And, to my surprise, I came out of it a stronger artist too.
Unexpectedly, the lessons I learned (and strategies I developed) to heal my PTSD also applied directly to my life as a creative, making me a more focused, productive, and satisfied artist. I saw my work improve and grow stronger as I went through my journey of healing.
I have talked about this journey over the last few years via presentations, on podcasts, and through a documentary video project. Now, I am excited to share my journey with you in my first book, currently scheduled to be released on January 1st.
What is this book?
It’s kind of hard to describe. It is hundreds of pages long, full of my story, my photos, inspirational quotes, educational thoughts and personal anecdotes. It is a journey, my journey, and I think you are really going to enjoy it.
Please fill out the form below to be notified when the book launches. Fill it out for your friend’s too. And, maybe for your dog. I know the healing power that comes from sharing our stories, how one small voice can help somebody with their struggles. My hope is that this book can do that for others, and I can’t wait to share it with you very soon.
